Ukraine’s fierce counteroffensive in southeast Krasnogorivka, Ukraine might withdraw troops from the Oskol River

Ukrainian authorities report russian preparations for an attack in the zolochev direction, evacuation plans made.

Ukrainian authorities have indicated that Russia is preparing for an offensive towards Zolochev, and evacuation plans have been established for civilians.

Signs that the Russian military might launch an attack in another area of the Kharkov front are causing concern for the regional military administration.

“The enemy in that direction, towards Zolochev, may become more active. We will also implement measures to evacuate the population,” said Sinegubov, head of the Kharkov Regional Police Department.

Ukraine’s Fierce Counteroffensive in Southeast Krasnogorivka

The Rybar channel summarized notable developments in the Ukraine conflict on May 29.

Russian forces attacked targets in Rivne, Kharkov, and Kirovohrad. Ukraine once again launched drones towards Armavir and attacked Crimea with unmanned boats.

Ukraine's fierce counteroffensive in southeast Krasnogorivka

In the Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops engaged in fierce clashes in Volchansk and the Liptsy area, continuing methodical operations to eliminate the enemy’s combat potential.

In the Bakhmut direction, Moscow’s forces attacked Ukrainian positions in the Kanal area on the eastern outskirts of Chasov Yar and advanced along the southern forest belt of Krasne.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian assault groups advanced towards Novopokrovske, attempting to encircle enemy units in the forest plantations west of Berdychi.

Ukraine's fierce counteroffensive in southeast Krasnogorivka

In the Donetsk direction, Kyiv’s forces attempted to break through towards Russian army positions southeast of Krasnogorivka but failed, suffering significant losses with some soldiers captured as prisoners.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops significantly expanded their control in Staromaiorske, advancing towards the northern outskirts of the village and also progressing towards the southern outskirts of the nearby settlement of Urozhayne.

Ukraine Might Withdraw All Troops from the East Bank of the Oskol River

Readovka reported that in southern Kupyansk, the Russian army’s sudden offensive has put Ukrainian forces in a difficult position.

After the Russian military captured the village of Berestovoye, the Ukrainian group risks being split between Andriivka and Myasozhorovka on one side and Stelmakhovka on the other. This would collapse the entire enemy defense line in this area.

Simultaneously, Moscow’s forces could trap Ukrainian troops in a “pincer” at Stelmakhovka itself.

Ukraine might withdraw troops from the Oskol River

Judging by the offensive paths opened for Russian soldiers, they might begin advancing to the banks of the Oskol River, pushing Kyiv’s forces back. However, this could lead to a paradoxical situation.

While pushing the enemy out of the Oskol seems like a viable solution, there’s a significant “but”: on the east bank of the river, Kyiv’s forces have amassed a substantial reserve for defending Kupyansk.

If the situation in this area continues to deteriorate for Kyiv, the Ukrainian command might decide to retreat to Kupyansk, abandoning the entire frontline on the east bank of the Oskol. Consequently, the Ukrainian army could then free up considerable reserves to be deployed to other areas of the front.
