Ukraine Loses Over 100,000 Shells to Russia Amid Ammunition Shortage

The Russian National Guard discovered a Ukrainian makeshift warehouse containing over 100,000 shells in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic.

“Special units of the Russian National Guard involved in the special military operation uncovered a hidden makeshift warehouse filled with numerous boxes of small arms ammunition, artillery shells, and engineering explosives in a settlement in the Luhansk People’s Republic. The soldiers seized a variety of ammunition boxes of different calibers, totaling more than 114,000 rounds,” the force reported.

In addition to the mentioned ammunition, the warehouse contained over 600 artillery shells and engineering explosives, 8 anti-tank missiles, more than 100 grenade launcher rounds, 136 fragmentation grenades, and smoke grenades.

All this ammunition is intact and will be handed over to Russian military depots.

Russia Shoots Down Ukrainian MiG-29 Fighter Jet

On May 28, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet in the past 24 hours.

“Russian air defense forces shot down a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Ukrainian Air Force, destroyed 39 drones, one US-made ATACMS missile, seven French-made Hammer guided glide bombs, and one US-made HIMARS missile,” the statement read.

In total, the Russian armed forces have eliminated 604 Ukrainian fighter jets, 274 helicopters, 24,739 drones, 524 surface-to-air missile systems, 16,182 tanks and armored fighting vehicles, 1,322 multiple launch rocket systems, 9,914 field artillery and mortars, and 22,060 special military vehicles since the start of the special military operation.
