Chechen leader Kadyrov has announced the capture of Ryzhevka village in the Sumy region following a three-day battle.
Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated that their special forces have taken control of the village of Ryzhevka, located on the border with the Kursk region.

According to Kadyrov, the offensive operation lasted three days, during which the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) suffered significant losses.
This information has been confirmed by war correspondents.
Kadyrov also noted that the operation was successful due to the coordinated actions of Russian units and unified command capabilities.
“The fighters of the Akhmat Chechen regiment of the Russian Ministry of Defense, under the command of Aslambek Saliev, along with soldiers from other units, successfully carried out the attack.”
“We have taken control of another populated area, seizing it from the enemy. This is the village of Ryzhevka, located on the border with the Kursk region,” Kadyrov clarified.
However, this information has yet to be mentioned in any official reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense. Additionally, there is skepticism regarding the combat capabilities of the Akhmat special forces unit, which has been nicknamed the “TikTok army.”
If Russia’s military operation is advancing towards Sumy, it appears they might be using this method to stretch Ukraine’s defensive lines, similar to their attack on Kharkiv.
Nevertheless, there is a clear disparity between the two operations, as the Kharkiv offensive involved a large force with numerous mechanized units, whereas the operation in Sumy consists of a relatively small group of troops.
